Kelly Clarkson has officially ended her seven-year marriage to Brandon Blackstock, a report from People Magazine revealed today. The outlet says that the 38-year-old American Idol alum filed for divorce on the 4th of June in a courthouse in LA.
The Blast was the first to report the news. Fans of Clarkson and Blackstock know that they had two kids together, River and Alexander, who are 5 and 3, respectively. Brandon has two other children from previous relationships.
According to multiple reports, Clarkson and Blackstock first met at the Academy of Country Music Awards back in 2006, and in 2012, they got engaged. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Clarkson had started social distancing with Blackstock and their children.
She even filmed episodes of her series, The Kelly Clarkson Show, from their Montana ranch. At the time, the singer-songwriter said it was a fantastic way of getting away from the big city for a while. She said she and Brandon have dreamed about it since they were kids.
Followers of the couple know that rumors of an impending collapse persisted for months. For instance, in April, Clarkson put their LA home on the market for around $10 million. Ironically, in the past, Clarkson had nothing but nice things to say about Blackstock.
