Ticket reseller Ticketek Marketplace is flooded with people selling Foo Fighters tickets, but one generous fan has come up with an alternative way to ensure their ticket doesn't go to waste.

Posting to Facebook, the anonymous ticketholder announced they are giving away their ticket for free, no strings attached.

“Not quite T Swift tickets - but are there any Foo Fighters fans that would like to go to their show at Accor stadium in Sydney on Saturday 9th December?” the anonymous poster asked.

“No payment required, just pay it forward to someone one day.”

They wished everyone a Merry Christmas before attaching a photo of the ticket seating location.

People were absolutely blown away by the generosity and many were keen to be considered for this generous act.

“Wow this is so generous! The best band I’ve ever seen live! Whoever goes will be super lucky and have the best time,” a woman wrote.

“This is such a beautiful gesture. The world needs more kind humans like you,” chimed in another.

A third wrote: “Just want to say this is a lovely gesture.”

Rock superstars the Foo Fighters kicked off the Australian leg of their world tour last Thursday night and got the ball rolling on what is a massive summer of world class musicians hitting Australian stages.

They are set to perform four more concerts in Australia: Melbourne on Dec 4 and 6, Sydney on Dec 9, Brisbane on Dec 12.

The lucky free ticket receiver was quick to share their joy, thanking the anonymous poster in the comments.

“Thank you so much!!! I can’t believe my luck,” the woman wrote.

“Can’t wait to rock it out. Thank you 100x to the legends who have been so kind.”

“I will pay it forward, I promise,” she said. ️

Tickets are still available for purchase on the official Ticketek website, as well as the resale site Ticketek Marketplace, with prices ranging from $125 - $285.
